At the Monkey Temple in Bali, a sensitive young monkey displays affection for its mom.

For the favorites gallery, I could have used a shot of a monkey mother holding back her offspring by grabbing its tail.  Or perhaps, re-interpreted this shot as a youthful attempt to grab food from its mother's mouth.  In general, the monkeys at Monkey Temples are over-fed, aggressive, and generally nasty creatures but this photo seems to show a gentler side – even if it involves a healthy dose of anthropromorphism.

As we traveled to rural Naqu prefecture, the paved road in Lhasa quickly turned to gravel.  After a long full day of bumping along the packed gravel road, we turned onto a pair of grooved indentations in the grasslands.  After a while, the grooves disappeared and we made our way across the prairie, eventually arriving at this woman's compound.  She is the mother of a young Tibetan woman who was being trained in midwifery with support from the Tibet Poverty Alleviation Fund.

Our preferred Asian travel adventure was to visit exclusive resorts with giant swimming pools and water slides.  Whenever we left the pool, our young children got disagreeable in the heat of the Asian days.  Here Isaac is not too disagreeable as he breaks the rule about "No Running" at the Ritz Carlton Bali.  Note the Michael Jordan tongue action.
